Everton are reportedly considering a bid for Leeds United star Sam Byram.

The Premier League outfit, who sit ninth in the table after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham United, are understood to be on the lookout for defensive cover should defending champions Chelsea reignite their pursuit of England defender John Stones in the New Year.

The 22-year-old, who has been at Elland Road since he was 12-years-old, has played 14 out of the Whites’ 16 opening Championship fixtures so far this season.

Despite Byram’s current contract expiring next summer; Leeds value their star right wing-back at around £6m, a figure new boss Steve Evans will be hoping will put off potential suitors ahead of the January transfer window.
