England manager, Sam Allardyce, woke up to the news that he will be investigated by The FA after he was secretly recorded discussing how to “get around” the third-party ownership

The report, which also claims to have unearthed widespread corruption in British football (hooray!), is the culmination of a 10-month investigation by the national paper.

Talked to a few FA people tonight. Allardyce is in for a painful inquisition starting properly tomorrow. Touch and go whether he survives.
