The third round of the Emirates FA Cup kicks off with a feisty Merseyside Derby as Liverpool host arch rivals Everton at Anfield on Friday night (19:55).

The Reds, who have won their last three Premier League games on the spin to move within three points of runners-up Manchester United in the standings, are looking to better the 1-1 home draw against Everton last month in the league to reach the fourth round.

Meanwhile The Toffees, who suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Manchester United on New Year’s Day, are looking for their first win at Anfield in all competitions since September 1999, when Kevin Campbell scored the only goal of the game.

For the hosts, summer signing Mohamed Salah has been a revelation, with the Egypt international scoring 23 goals in all competitions already this season.

Everton’s Wayne Rooney celebrates scoring at Newcastle United.

As for the visitors, Wayne Rooney is enjoying his prolific return to Goodison Park following his free transfer from Manchester United, netting 10 league goals this term.

So, with both key men set to go head-to-head in Friday’s FA Cup clash, here is how Salah’s and Rooney’s league form compare…
