Manchester United got the better of Premier League leaders Chelsea 2-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday to inflict a fifth league defeat of the campaign on Antonio Conte’s side.
The Blues saw second place Tottenham thump Bournemouth 4-0 on Saturday to reduce the gap at the summit to just four points, but goals from Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera secured a deserved victory for Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils on Sunday.
And it means that, with just six games of the season remaining, Chelsea’s lead is just four points, and with Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs on a seven-game winning streak, the title race isn’t quite over just yet.
Liverpool remain third after narrowly beating West Brom 1-0 at the Hawthorns, while Manchester City eased past Southampton 3-0 at St Mary’s to stay in fourth, four points clear of neighbours United after their fine win over the leaders.
Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal picked up their first Premier League away win since January by seeing off struggling Middlesbrough 2-1, and that means that the Gunners are now ahead of Ronald Koeman’s Everton in the table despite the Toffees comfortably beating Burnley 3-1 at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Watford climbed into the top ten with a 1-0 success over relegation-threatened Swansea, who remain third bottom, while basement side Sunderland have now gone eight games without a victory after only mustering a 2-2 draw at home to Slaven Bilic’s West Ham.
Marco Silva’s Hull lost on the road again, this time at Stoke City, while champions Leicester warmed up for their crucial Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday with a hard-fought 2-2 draw away at a resurgent Crystal Palace.
Clearly, it was an enthralling weekend in English football’s top tier, and several supporters took to Twitter to express their views on the matches, with United fans lauding a best display of the season as their side beat Chelsea on Sunday…

Agree with the notion that yesterday was our best performance post-fergie. Felt like a vintage United big game win at Old Trafford. #MUFC

While many Blues supporters were frustrated and disappointed with their team’s efforts at Old Trafford…

the fact that today is the first game we couldn't get a shot on target in over a decade tells me how absurd our performance was today. #CFC

Umm a bit concerned after Chelsea's performance today. Conte certainly not confident in the changes he made before the game. #CFC #munche

Today's performance was ridiculous. Now the points difference is reduced to 4. No. More. Mistakes. #CFC

Pochettino’s Spurs won again, this time comprehensively seeing off Bournemouth at White Hart Lane, and many Tottenham supporters were absolutely delighted with their side’s dominant performance on Saturday…
Another fantastic performance from @SpursOfficial today. Poch has moved us on again, no more end of season folding. #COYS #THFC #totbou

Another fantastic performance.
We have been absolutely spoilt this season. Best I've seen in 30 years I've been going Spurs. #THFC— LeeR (@JFox2010) April 15, 2017

With one man in particular standing out above all…
Great performance from every player but must single out Mousa Dembele, was outstanding for 90 minutes gliding past opposition. #COYS #THFC
— Alf Love (@alf_love47) April 15, 2017
Mousa Dembele's passing accuracy of 98% today is the highest percentage of any player in the premier league this season. Unreal. #COYS #THFC

And Easter Monday saw Arsenal get back to winning ways after a turbulent few weeks, a result which pleased many, even if the performance wasn’t quite at a high level…
#afc We won tonight, not the greatest performance but stuff that, we have the three points..#COYG

Arsenal actually win a game of football. Largely due to Middlesbrough being rubbish rather than any great performance. #AFC #MFCvAFC

A small step forward and a better performance. Probably have to win our remaining games to make the Top 4. Difficult but not impossible #AFC
