Scott Sinclair is enjoying something of a renaissance at Parkhead this season as the former Swansea City and Manchester City winger has gone from strength to strength and now the Celtic star has turned his attention to the national side, claiming he’s not given up on getting an England call up, according to the Daily Record.
While he still has ambitions of breaking into Gareth Southgate’s squad, Sinclair has also added that he doesn’t intend to move away from Celtic in order to make his international dream a reality.
It’s not always easy for a player who’s yet to make an impression on the England squad, to break into it while plying their trade in Scotland, in the past we’ve seen the likes of Alan Thompson, Chris Sutton and Fraser Forster barely get a look in with the national side, despite being hugely successful at club level for Celtic.
Sinclair may have to put in performances in the Champions League that cannot be ignored to have any chance of making the Three Lions squad. On social media fans have been reacting to Sinclair’s recent comments…
Walcott is better than Lallana, even he would’ve squared it for an open net.
Lallana is awful!! How is he in the squad over Scott Sinclair??— Jeeves (@stevenjeeves) March 22, 2017
