FC Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Manchester United and Chelsea target Andre Gomes for £41.7m.
The La Liga giants, who finished one point ahead of fierce Spanish rivals Real Madrid to claim the 2015/16 title last term, have secured the signature of the Portugal international midfielder from Valencia.
The 22-year-old, who has 13 international caps for his country and starred for Portugal at the recent EURO 2016 finals as they defeated hosts France 1-0 in the final, scored four goals and provided seven assists in 41 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit last season.
Gomes, who began his senior career in his homeland with Benfica, was also reportedly a target for arch-rivals Madrid following his displays at the European Championships.
The Portuguese star will become Barca boss Luis Enrique’s fourth signing this summer following the arrivals of Samuel Umtiti (Lyon), Denis Suarez (Villarreal) and Lucas Digne (Paris Saint-Germain).
