FC Barcelona are reportedly set to submit an opening offer of £25m for England international defender John Stones, according to the Daily Mail on Sunday.

The La Liga champions, who edged out rivals Real Madrid to win the Spanish top-flight this term, are eager to lure the highly-rated Everton centre-half to the Camp Nou this summer, despite fellow interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City.

The 22-year-old, who has 10 international caps for the Three Lions and is set to be included in England’s 23-man squad for EURO 2016 next month in France, made 41 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees this season.

Stones, who moved to Goodison Park back in January 2013 after sealing a £3m move from League One outfit Barnsley, is said to be valued at around £45m by Everton.

However the report suggests that Luis Enrique’s Barca are set to test their luck with an opening bid of £25m.
