Former Newcastle United captain Kevin Nolan has been reportedly linked with a move to Sunderland.
The central midfielder parted company with fellow Premier League rivals West Ham United earlier today after not being guaranteed first-team football under new manager Slaven Bilic this season.
The 33-year-old, who made 91 appearances for the Magpies between 2009 and 2011, scored just once in 34 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers last term.
During his stay at St James’ Park; he netted four times in three games against the Black Cats, creating some memorable moments for Sunderland’s rivals Newcastle.
However; with just six days separating the next Tyne-Wear derby between the two clubs, it has now become a possibility that Nolan could become the next player to feature for both arch-rivals as boss Dick Advocaat looks to strengthen his ahead of the close of the transfer window.
