Four Chelsea players who could still be loaned out this transfer window

Lampard is managing his very large squad.

Four Chelsea players who could still be loaned out this transfer window.

Chelsea, more than any other club know the loan system well. The Blues have countless players out on loan as they use other clubs to give their young stars playing time and ultimately to raise their transfer value.

Big-name players have already gone out on loan in recent weeks with Ruben Loftus-Cheek joining Premier League neighbours on loan as manager Frank Lampard tries to reduce his squad.

But with a week until the EFL window shuts, here’s three Chelsea players who could still leave the current playing squad…

Antonio Rudiger

Seven or eight months ago, a potential loan move for Rudiger would have been out of the question, but it could be on the cars before the loan deadline. Jose Mourinho was keen to snap up Rudiger at Spurs, but it always seemed unlikely that Lampard would allow of such quality to go to one of his team’s rivals. But West Ham United are still interested and the Metro have reported that a loan deal could still take place.

Danny Drinkwater

Chelsea’s forgotten man, Drinkwater has really struggled for first team football at Stamford Bridge, making just 12 appearances since his 2017 switch. Poor loan spells at Burnley and most-recently Aston Villa have not helped the midfielders career. Lampard has left the former Premier League winner out the team’s Champions League squad, meaning a loan could be again on the cards.

Victor Moses

Another player not in Chelsea’s Champions League squad is Victor Moses. SkySports have suggested that a loan switch to a Russian or Portuguese team could happen due to their transfer deadline also being later than most of Europe. Since his 2012 arrival at Chelsea, the Nigeria international has been to five different clubs on loan and will have to do so again if he is to find regular first team football.

Baba Rahman

Rahman has not made a Chelsea appearance since the 2015-16 season and given the current crop of players at Stamford Bridge, is unlikely to do so again. Watford could be the latest loan switch for the Ghanaian, with the Watford Observer reporting that the Championship club could be interested in the left back.
