Fulham have accepted a bid in the region of £12 million from Aston Villa for striker Ross McCormack.
The Scottish attacker has been linked with a move away from Craven Cottage all summer and Norwich City were understood to be the frontrunners for the 29-year-old’s signature, however it appears as though Villa have gazumped them just two days before the new campaign begins, as both teams look to secure an instant return to the Premier League.
A statement on the Fulham’s official website read: “The club can confirm that a bid has been accepted from Aston Villa for Ross McCormack. Further details will be announced in due course.”
McCormack joined the west London outfit from Leeds United for a fee of around £11 million in 2014, and he has gone on to score 42 goals in 100 appearances in all competitions for the Whites, who finished in a disappointing 20th position in the Championship last term.
