Spurs striker, Harry Kane reached the remarkable landmark of 50 Premier League goals since he made his top flight debut for Tottenham in 2012, when he opened his account for the new season with a goal at Stoke on Saturday.

We at Shoot! can’t help but sit up and take notice when anyone reaches such an impressive landmark, especially for a player at such a young age. With the 23-year-old having reached a momentous moment in his career, we’re going to take you back through the goals to find out just how he got here.

Career Highlights

Despite making his debut in 2012, it was not until two years later that he was handed his first start in a league game for Spurs, having been shipped out on loan to Norwich and Leicester during the intermediate years.

Having been given the nod to start late on in the 2013/14 season, the Chingford born man hit the ground running, with a full league debut goal in a resounding 5-1 over Sunderland, before going on to notch again in the two following games against West Brom and Fulham, respectively.

After a slow start to the following season the centre forward came alive after scoring a winning free-kick against Aston Villa. That goal got him going for sensational season, where he bagged 21 goals as Spurs finished fifth.

His breakthrough season brought some huge highlights, including a first Premier League hat-trick in a 4-3 win over the then relegation threatened, Leicester City. However, perhaps the standout moment of the 2014/15 campaign for Kane was his brace against fierce rivals, Arsenal, as he lead the line in a 2-1 win.

Towards the back end of the same season he captained the side for the first time as he lead the team out at Burnley’s Turf Moor, before again taking the armband the following week at White Hart Lane, although Spurs suffered a 1-0 to Aston Villa.

Perhaps his sweetest moment in a lilywhite shirt and was what has arguably been his best goal, a stunning finish in last season’s North London derby at White Hart Lane.

National Service

The England international made the perfect start to his international career, when he was called up to Roy Hodgson’s squad in March 2015.

The striker made his bow as a second-half substitute in a EURO 2016 Qualifier against Lithuania, and took all of 80 seconds to add his name to the goalscoring books for the Three Lions, heading home from a Raheem Sterling cross, capping a 4-0 win for Hodgson’s side.

Kane now has five England goals to his name in seventeen appearances for the national side and, despite a rocky European Championships, remains the key man up top in Sam Allardyce’s new setup.

Golden Boot

Going into the 2015/16 season, question marks began to pop up around whether or not the striker was just a one season wonder, as he began the new campaign without a goal in his first six games, before opening his account against Man City, with a goal in Tottenham’s 4-1 win over Pellegrini’s side.

The doubters soon began to fade away as Kane then bagged a hat-trick against Premier League new boys, Bournemouth as he notched seven goals in four games.

Although last season ended in disappointment for the North London side, losing the title race to Ranieri’s Leicester before being pipped to second by, who else, Arsenal, Kane ended the season with the Golden Boot in his hands, scoring 25 goals in 38 games, the first time the award has been won by an Englishman since Kevin Phillips in 2000.

It has been quite a rise for the striker who, with his goal for Pochettino’s side at Stoke this weekend, became the quickest ever Spurs’ player to reach 50 Premier League goals, doing so in just 86 outings.
