Head-to-Head: Jonathan Kodjia (Bristol City) vs David Nugent (Middlesbrough)

Since Bristol City beat Middlesbrough 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium in August, it looked like the Robins’ disappointing start to life in the second-tier had taken a positive turn.

However, since then, Boro have hit form and are now five points clear at the top of the division after winning eight of their last nine matches, while City have continued to struggle and sit two points adrift of safety.

The two meet at Ashton Gate on Saturday and it is hard to predict anything but another win for Aitor Karanka’s side. However, the Ashton Gate club, who have just sacked manager Steve Cotterill, have beaten the current Championship leaders in each of the three last encounters.

If they are to cause a shock and make that four on the bounce, top scorer Jonathan Kodjia will have to be on top form.

The Frenchman been a bright spark in a dull season for City, scoring 10 goals in all competitions in a side which has won just four times.

For the team from the Riverside, David Nugent hasn’t been as prolific for Boro, scoring five since his summer move from Leicester, but has been just as important in leading the table toppers’ attack
