Eddie Howe’s AFC Bournemouth have made a fine start to their second season in the Premier League.

The Cherries have won four and drawn three of their opening 13 league games, with their most impressive result coming courtesy of a 6-1 thrashing of Hull City in October.

Three 1-0 wins over West Brom, Everton, and Stoke have demonstrated Bournemouth’s defensive capabilities that were maybe lacking last season, but they still attack with the same vigour and purpose that served them so well last time out.

Howe’s side also picked up a decent point at home to Tottenham in October, but go into Sunday’s game at home to Liverpool having lost three of their last four league matches.

Their most recent defeat came at the hands of Arsenal last weekend where, although they matched the hosts for large periods, the Gunners’ extra quality in the final third sealed the victory.

However, Howe’s men have shown to be more than capable of matching the top sides, and will give Jurgen Klopp’s side a serious test at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Following last week’s defeat, Howe may consider making a few changes to his side, so here are THREE players who deserve a start on Sunday…

Charlie Daniels

Defender Charlie Daniels missed the trip to Arsenal last weekend due to injury, but could make a return against Liverpool on Sunday.

And, if he is passed fit to play, then he should go straight back into the starting eleven.

The 30-year-old has been excellent at the back for the Cherries this season, and missed just one Premier League game season in helping Howe’s side stay in the top-flight.

His marauding runs down the left and excellent crossing ability could help a Bournemouth side get at the Liverpool defence on Sunday.

Jack Wilshere

Although Bournemouth acquitted themselves well against Arsenal last weekend, Jack Wilshere should certainly return to the starting line-up.

The 24-year-old, on loan from the Gunners, was ineligible to play his parent club, but his displays for the Cherries this season suggests that he deserves to come back into the side on Sunday.

Wilshere is slowly rebuilding what looked like a faltering career at the Vitality Stadium, and his recent inclusion in Gareth Southgate’s England squad must have given him great confidence to continue performing at a high level for the Cherries.

He just needs to add a few goals and more assists to his game, and he’ll be a huge asset to have against Liverpool on Sunday, as he will be able to retain to ball and take some pressure off the hosts.

Jordon Ibe

How Jordon Ibe would love to get on the scoresheet against his former club on Sunday.

The 20-year-old moved to the South Coast for £15 million in the summer from Anfield, and has been a regular feature in the Cherries team thus far, although illness restricted him to a bench spot against Arsenal last weekend.

However, if passed fit this weekend, he should return to the starting line-up, as his pace and directness could hurt a Liverpool defence that have looked unconvincing at times this season.

Ibe’s displays for Bournemouth have been steadily improving, and a game against his former employers may be the perfect time for the young winger to register his first goal of the campaign.
