Hull City have made a third bid for Brentford striker Andre Gray after selling Dame N’Doye to Trabzonspor for £2.2. million.
The Bees forward impressed in his debut season in the Championship, netting 18 goals in all competitions as the west London side claimed an unlikely play-off place.
However, after hearing of the Tigers’ interest, it is thought he is keen to be on the move once again and declared himself “not mentally ready” to start in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Ipswich, in which he scored after coming on as a second half substitute.
Despite watching Chuba Akpom impress in their opening day win over Huddersfield, Hull boss Steve Bruce is desperate to add more firepower to his squad following the loss of N’Doye.
And the experienced manager, who signed Moses Odubajo from the same club for £3.5 million last week, is set to table another offer for the 24-year-old ex-Luton star.
