Third-placed Portugal head into their game with the table-topping Hungary knowing three points will see them qualify for the Round of 16 at EURO 2016.

Despite two draws, 1-1 against Iceland and 0-0 against Austria, a win would take them onto five points and leapfrog the Hungarians who are currently on four points after they beat Austria 2-0 and drew 1-1 with Iceland.

The team who finishes second in Group F will play against England on Monday night in Nice in the last-16, and this could be Portugal if they win, plus if Iceland defeat Austria.

Portugal have so far been left frustrated after their two fixtures, with talisman Cristiano Ronaldo alone having 20 shots without scoring – which is more than nine other nations competing in the competition.

The Real Madrid superstar missed a late penalty in their last game against Austria which has heaped on the pressure for the Portuguese as a draw, taking them onto three points, may not be enough to advance to the knockout stages.

Hungary on the other hand have been somewhat of a surprise package so far, but were fortunate to grab a late equaliser against Iceland in their last game which came courtesy of an own goal.

They are very likely to progress even if they lose with four points, but a draw will guarantee qualification, while a win will see them top the group.

Bernd Storck’s men have looked astute in possession during their two games and have attacked well in numbers, but they will be aware that Portugal are a far more daunting task.

There have been ten previous meetings between the two nations which have never seen Portugal come out on the losing side – winning seven and drawing three.

The last time they met was in October 2009 for a World Cup 2010 qualifier, where two goals from Simao and one from Liedson saw Portugal run out 3-0 winners.

Team News:

Hungary head coach Bernd Storck will miss defender Attila Fiola through injury, but there are no other injury concerns or suspensions.

Portugal however have no injuries, but boss Fernando Santos may look to shake up the side after their 0-0 draw against Austria.
