Liverpool reclaimed third spot in the Premier League standings after defeating West Ham United 4-0 at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho (2) and Divock Origi sealed a convincing away victory for The Reds in the capital, as Jurgen Klopp’s side look to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next term by finishing in the top-flight’s top four.
Today’s result means if Liverpool beat already relegated Middlesbrough on the final day of the 2016-17 campaign next Sunday at Anfield, they will guarantee themselves a spot in next season’s European elite competition.
Aside from a thrilling performance inside the Olympic Stadium, Reds fans were particularity delighted to see forward Sturridge get on the scoresheet for the first time since early-January – netting just his seventh goal in all competitions this campaign.
Supporters took to Twitter to praise the England international, and publicise their hope that the 27-year-old remains on Merseyside beyond the summer…

Daniel Sturridge should be #LFC player next season. Just get a better medical team.

We may not be able to rely on Sturridge most of the time but ultimately he’s a gamechanger.
A £20M fee is pocket money nowadays.
Keep him

@DaveOCKOP Really hope Sturridge stays. Even with his injury record, he will still contribute to the massive amount of fixtures next season.
