Ins and Outs this summer could leave Manchester United’s squad looking very different next season

Solskjaer has many defenders in his squad.

How would Manchester United’s squad look with the ins and outs set to take place? Manchester Evening News take a look at the potential United squad for next season.

After starting to build some momentum under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before the Coronavirus outbreak, it is a vitally important summer for Manchester United from a transfer perspective.

If Ole and chief executive Ed Woodward get it right again, like they did in January and last summer, the Old Trafford outfit have a chance of becoming Premier League title challengers once again.

Here’s how the Manchester Evening News think Ole’s squad could shape up for the 2020/2021 campaign.

Goalkeepers: De Gea, Romero, Grant

The big question is surrounding the in-form Dean Henderson who is currently on loan at Sheffield United. The Red Devils have secured Henderson with a three-year contract and the MEN believe they will keep the shot-stopper on loan for another season.

Whether that will be Sheffield United or another Premier League club we are yet to see.

Defenders: Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Wan-Bissaka, Dalot, Shaw, Williams

Interesting selection given by MEN.  They don’t believe United will bring in any defenders, despite some rumours circulating.

It’s more a study who United will have off their books in the way of  Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo, who the paper believe will not be in the squad in one form or another

Midfielders: Fred, McTominay, Matic, Fernandes, Pereira, (new midfielder)

MEN have not fully committed on who United will bring in, but they are confident they will bring in another midefield player with Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish a likely candidate.

Once again, the big story here is who will be leaving the club, with the respected local paper believing Paul Pogba will not be with United next season.

Forwards: Mata, Rashford, Martial, James, Ighalo, Greenwood, (new playmaker), (new winger)

No Alexis Sanchez, moving in to next year, with the likely winger set to be Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. With MEN also mentioning Leicester City’s James Maddison as a possible inclusion.

MEN have also noted that Odion Ighalo will remain at Old Trafford, a list of forwards which gives them so much more strength-in-depth than they have had available this season.
