Manchester United have been linked with offloading Armenia international star Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to Sky Sports.

The Premier League side, who host Southampton at Old Trafford this evening (17:30), could receive interest from Inter Milan in their out of favour midfielder ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

The 28-year-old, who has 70 international caps for his country, has scored two goals and provided six assists in 20 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils so far this season.

Mkhitaryan, who arrived at The Theatre of Dreams back in July 2016 following his move from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth up to £30m, has netted 13 times in 61 games overall under manager Jose Mourinho, winning the UEFA Europa League, the EFL Cup and an FA Community Shield.

However, the attacking midfielder has not started a Premier League fixture for United since their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea back in early November, with Serie A giants Inter Milan closely monitoring his situation ahead of the New Year market, and boss Mourinho open to offers for the Armenian.
