Juventus have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Italy international defender Matteo Darmian, according to Calciomercato.

The Serie A champions, who currently sit one point adrift of Italian top-flight leaders Napoli in the standings, have been strongly linked with a move for the Manchester United right-back this summer.

The 28-year-old, who has 36 international caps for the Azzurri, has provided two assists in 12 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils so far this season.

Darmian, who arrived at Old Trafford back in July 2015 following his reported £12.7m switch from Torino, has scored one goal in 80 games overall for Jose Mourinho’s side.

However, the Italian has started just two Premier League fixtures this term, with primary winger Antonio Valencia preferred at right-back, and Juventus are ready to hand Darmian a return to his homeland this summer.

The full-back, who has won the UEFA Europa League, the FA Cup and the EFL Cup at The Theatre of Dreams, is valued at £10.8m, by transfermarkt.
