Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is prepared to splash out £50m in the January window as he prepares his squad for the Premier League run-in.
According to reports from the Daily Express the Reds boss, who has seen his side excel so far in his first full season in charge, is looking to land a double swoop in the winter window for Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk and Celtic’s Moussa Dembele.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss saw his side’s defensive frailties on full show as they through away a 3-1 lead at Bournemouth to lose 4-3 to an injury time winner from Cherries defender Nathan Ake.
In order to temper the weakness at the back Klopp is looking to bring in the £30m rated Saints defender, who has continued to impress this season after a strong first term on the south coast.
The German boss is also looking to the Dutchman’s former club Celtic to bring in their free-scoring summer signing Moussa Dembele, for around £20m in order to add to his already potent attacking options.
