Valencia are reportedly considering a surprise swoop for England international Jamie Vardy.

The Oranges’ new head coach, former Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, has earmarked the Leicester City striker as the ideal transfer target ahead of next month’s market.

The 28-year-old, who has four international caps for the Three Lions, has scored a sensational 14 league goals in 15 games this season, becoming the first-ever player to score in 11 successive Premier League fixtures.

Boss Neville is convinced Vardy’s pace and precision would be a perfect fit for the Englishman in Spanish football and is understood to be discussing a potential move for the Foxes’ hotshot with Valencia owner Peter Lim.

But with growing interest in Vardy ahead of the January transfer window; particularly from Neville’s former club Manchester United, Leicester are adamant that they do not need to sell their £25m rated prized asset in the New Year as Claudio Ranieri’s men go in search of European football next term.
