Lazio won’t stand in Liverpool target Stefan de Vrij’s way during the January transfer window

Liverpool have reportedly been handed a boost in their pursuit of Netherlands international defender Stefan de Vrij, according to the Express.
The Premier League side, who salvaged a 3-3 draw against Arsenal on Friday night, have been linked with luring the Lazio centre-half to Anfield during next month’s transfer window.
The 25-year-old, who has 31 international caps for his country, has scored three goals in 20 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far this season.
De Vrij, who joined the Italian club from Feyenoord back in July 2014, has netted six times in 91 games overall for Lazio.
However, the defender is out of contract come June 2018, and is widely tipped to leave Lazio in January.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with the Dutchman, along with the likes of FC Barcelona, Juventus and Inter Milan, and Lazio president Claudio Lotito admits he will not stand in De Vrij’s way if he wishes to leave next month.
He said, “We have always said that people come and go but Lazio remains.
“It depends on the ethics and behaviour of the player.
“As a club we have always behaved very well towards the players and we’ll see what the players choose.
“We are used to enforcing our rights whilst always respecting the rules.”
De Vrij is valued at around £24.3m by transfermarkt.
