Barnet grabbed their first win in League Two this season by beating Accrington Stanley 2-0. John Akinde marked his 100th appearance for the Bees, by putting them ahead, before summer signing Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro doubled their lead with a fine solo strike.

Morecambe beat neighbours Blackpool 2-1 in their first-ever league meeting, after coming from a goal behind.

Brad Potts gave the Tangerines the lead, before on-loan Liverpool midfielder Jack Dunn equalised. Michael Rose scored the winner 15 minutes from time.

Colchester United’s two home debutants both scored as they beat Cambridge United 2-0. Brennan Dickenson and Denny Johnstone both netted either side of half-time as the U’s climbed up to third in the table.

Plymouth Argyle lost their third game in a row this season in all competitions as they went down 1-0 at Carlisle United. Reggie Lambe’s strike was the difference between the teams after he drove in a 15-yard effort.

Hartlepool United remain unbeaten after beating Exeter City 2-1 away from home. Liam McAlinden had put the visitors in front, but two goals in 90 seconds saw Pool dramatically turn the game around as strikes from Michael Woods and veteran striker Billy Paynter 15 minutes from time sealed all three points.

Newport County won their first league match of the new campaign after they defeated Leyton Orient 1-0. Jamie Turley scored his first goal for the club and the all-important winner from Marlon Jackson’s flick from a corner.

Wycombe Wanderers kick-started their league campaign by beating recently-promoted Grimsby Town 2-1, with a stoppage-time winner. The Mariners thought they had earned a well-earned point when Andrew Boyce equalised from Sido Jombati’s opener. Only for Anthony Stewart to tap-in the rebound from Adebayo Akinfenwa’s initial header.

Early promotion favourites Doncaster Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Crawley Town. James Collins put the Red Devils in front when he turned in Jason Banton’s cross, before James Coppinger earned Donny a point.

Luton Town are top of League Two, despite drawing 1-1 with Yeovil Town. Stephen O’Donnell’s thunderous strike from 25-yards hammered into the top right-hand corner as the Hatters went 1-0 up. Tom Eaves pulled the Glovers level when he headed home from six yards with just over ten minutes left.

Mansfield Town and Cheltenham Town also drew 1-1, as the Robins maintained their unbeaten start to life in League Two, thanks to a superb 30-yard goal from Daniel O’Shaughnessy ten minutes from time after Mitch Rose gave the Stags the lead.

Crewe Alexandra dug deep to keep the score at 0-0 as Portsmouth missed a catalogue of chances to take all three points.

And finally, Notts County and Stevenage took a point apiece as they drew 1-1. Ben Kennedy had put the visitors ahead, before Jon Stead levelled for the Magpies.
