Championship outfit Leeds United have today confirmed on their official website the signing of Sporting Lisbon winger Hadi Sacko on a three-year deal.
The 23-year-old spent the entirety of the campaign on loan at the Yorkshire club, scoring twice and laying on three assists in 38 league appearances to help Garry Monk’s side to seventh place in the table, their best finish since 2011.
And although they were unable to sustain a play-off place, having been well-lodged inside the top six for much of 2017, Sacko’s performances over the course of the campaign certainly proved to be enough as the club triggered the option of a permanent deal.
And this news will surely delight Leeds fans who have had their fair share of mixed news in recent times, with the optimism of Andrea Radrizzani’s takeover of the club then tinged with disappointment following the resignation of manager Monk after just a year in the job.
Nonetheless, several Leeds supporters did indeed take to Twitter following the announcement of Sacko’s signing, and many were pleased the see the 23-year-old return to Elland Road…

Great signing, he loves Leeds and battered defenders last season with his pace and tricks, just needs a coach to harness his talents

Yet some took the opportunity to express their concern that the club still did not have a manager, and that the new man may not necessarily have Sacko in his plans when he does arrive…
Can we have a manager please?

Jokers. Sign a manager and quickly. Let him assess and bring his own in.

Get a manager first before signing players. New manager might not approve of them! #lufc #MOT
