AFC Bournemouth are reportedly closing in on the £6m signing of England Under-19 international Lewis Cook, according to The Telegraph.
The Premier League side, who host Manchester United on the opening weekend of the forthcoming 2016/17 English top-flight campaign, have been continually linked with a summer swoop for the highly-rated Leeds United midfielder.
The 19-year-old, who has featured nine times for England’s Under-19 squad, scored two goals and provided three assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for the Whites last season.
Cook, who is set to have a medical at Bournemouth on Friday, is expected to cost the Cherries in the region of £6m.
The report suggests that a deal is likely to be concluded within the next 48 hours as manager Eddie Howe reshapes his Bournemouth squad ahead of their second-ever Premier League campaign.
The York-born midfielder, who still has one year remaining on his deal at Elland Road, has gone on to make 85 first-team appearances for Leeds following his debut back in August 2014.
