Nigel de Jong helped Manchester City win the Premier League in 2012

Leicester City are enjoying a sensational season to date, sitting top of the Premier League after 16 matches, something even the most die-hard Foxes fan could never have predicted at the start of the season.

With Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy scoring and crating chances for fun, and everyone else in the squad performing exceptionally well when called upon, it’s very hard to select a player they would try to sign in January.

The main objective will be to keep hold of their squad, especially their star duo, but due to their incredible work rate and the position they fins themselves in, boss Claudio Ranieri could look to add an experienced body to his midfield.

If reports are correct, that player could be Nigel de Jong. The Netherlands international is available to buy from AC Milan for around £2 million and is keen on a return to England, where he helped Manchester City win their first Premier League title in 2012. Surely it’s nonsense to say he could do the same in 2016?
