Leicester City have reportedly had an opening £15.1m offer rejected for Nigeria captain Ahmed Musa, according to BBC Sport.
The surprise Premier League leaders, who convincingly defeated Stoke City 3-0 at the weekend, are interested in signing the CSKA Moscow forward before the close of the January transfer window on Monday night.
The 23-year-old, who has 54 international caps for his country, has scored ten goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for the Russian top-flight outfit this season.
Musa; who is believed to be open to a move to the King Power Stadium this month, is valued at around £18.9m by CSKA, although he is said to have a buy-out clause of £22.8m in his current contract.
Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri is expected to return with an improved offer for the Nigerian striker before Monday’s 11pm deadline.
