Craig Shakespeare’s superb run as Leicester City manager continued this weekend as the Foxes battered Watford 3-0 at the King Power stadium.
The win means under Shakespeare has won his first five league home games – a record for an English manager and has been part of a run that’s seen the Foxes pick up 22 points one more than Claudio Ranieri had managed before he was sacked in February.
Shakespeare’s cause has been helped by a rejuvenated Jamie Vardy who was on the scoresheet again yesterday to set a record of his own, becoming the most productive attacking player Leicester have had in the Premier League era with his tally of 41 goals and 19 assists moving him past former winger Muzzy Izzet who was part of Matin O’Neill’s successful side in the 90s.
Leicester now sit in ninth place in the Premier League their highest position all season as Shakespeare has completely turned the club’s fortunes around and reverted back to the type of football and dominance that saw them lift the title last season.
There’s now calls for Shakespeare to be given a long term contract at the club and tasked with bringing in new players in the summer.
Leicester fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the idea of Shakespeare staying as manager into next season and beyond.
Just give him the job. #shakespeare #lcfc https://t.co/z76RrLdpG2

@bbc606 #LCFC have to keep Shakespeare (5/5 home league wins) & can’t see him stepping back to being an assistant #sogivehimthejobnow

@bbc606 Of course @LCFC should appoint Craig Shakespeare as manager. Who is this so called ‘big name’? Shakespeare is a big enough name 4 me
