England striker Rachel Williams has re-signed for Birmingham City Ladies following the folding of Notts County Ladies.
The forward, 29, was a key part of the Blues’ challenge for the Women’s Super League 1 title in the inaugural season of the competition, when they finished second, thanks in no small part to her 14 goals in 14 games.
She also helped City to their Women’s FA Cup win in 2012, scoring a late equaliser to force extra-time against Chelsea, and then beating them on penalties to lift the trophy.

She left the club in 2013 to join Chelsea, and moved to the Lady Pies in 2015.
Williams was recalled to the England squad at the start of 2017 after almost four years in the international wilderness, although she did not make the final cut for Mark Sampson’s squad for the summer’s European Championships.
Meanwhile, her former County team-mate Amy Turner has signed for Liverpool, and Wales international Angharad James has joined Yeovil Town.
