Liverpool bidding to beat Arsenal and Bayern Munich to ex-Manchester United striker

Liverpool are set to try and bring back Mexico international Javier Hernandez to the Premier League this summer, according to ITA Sport Press.

The Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp; whose side currently sit ninth in the standings, 12 points adrift of fourth placed Manchester City, has insisted to the club’s board that they attempt to sign the Bayer Leverkusen striker at the end of the current 2015-16 campaign following his sensational goalscoring form.

The 27-year-old, who has 78 international caps for his country, has scored a mightily impressive 22 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season.

Hernandez, who left Premier League rivals Manchester United for the German side only back in August 2015 for a measly £7.3m, is wanted at Anfield by boss Klopp as his star striker for the forthcoming 2016-17 term.

Following the inconsistent form and injury problems to the likes of fellow forwards Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Daniel Sturridge at Liverpool this season, the German would like to hand ‘Chicarito’ a return to the English top-flight following his instant success back in his respective homeland.

The report also suggests that the likes of Arsenal and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also interested in the Mexican’s services.
