Liverpool have completed the signing of full-back Milos Kerkez from Premier League rivals Bournemouth.

The Reds confirmed on Thursday morning that the left-back had signed a long-term deal with the club.

Kerkez becomes the Premier League champions’ third major signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen.

The 21-year-old joined the Cherries from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in 2023 and went on to play 74 times for the south coast side across all competitions.

The Hungarian was particularly impressive for Andoni Iraola’s side last term, playing in all 38 of Bournemouth’s Premier League games.

Kerkez scored twice and registered eight assists during his time with the Cherries, and will now compete with Andy Robertson for the starting spot on the left side of Arne Slot’s backline.

The Hungary international could face his former side on the opening day of the 2025/26 Premier League season, with the reigning champions hosting the Cherries at Anfield.

Slot’s side for the visit of Bournemouth could look very different to the side that cruised to the top flight title last term, with Trent Alexander-Arnold having departed and Frimpong, Wirtz, and now Kerkez having all joined the Reds.

Kerkez made his senior international debut during a Nations League fixture against Germany in 2022 and has now been capped 23 times by his country.

The defender has also been named on the shortlist for the 2024/25 Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year Award.
