Liverpool could lure these 2 Arsenal players to Anfield in January

Liverpool fans have every right to be optimistic about the season ahead if the first few months are anything to go by.

The Reds, in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge, currently sit third in the Premier League table, level on points with leaders Manchester City and second-place Arsenal.

This is after a great start to the campaign which has seen them win seven of their first ten league games, with Burnley the only side to beat Klopp’s men so far this season.

Victories over Arsenal, Chelsea, and Leicester have underlined their title credentials, and a run to the League Cup quarter-finals has given fans hope that Klopp can improve on their two runner-up finishes in last year’s League Cup and Europa League competitions.

Nevertheless, the Reds will host Watford on Sunday looking to usurp Pep Guardiola’s City and Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal at the top, but Klopp still may feel that he needs more reinforcements for his side to sustain their title challenge.

Thus, he may look at other Premier League players in a bid to bolster his squad, so here are TWO Arsenal players he may try and lure to Anfield in January…

Kieran Gibbs

Although he has started a bit more frequently for Arsenal in recent weeks, it doesn’t look like Kieran Gibbs’ future is at the Emirates.

Just three Premier League appearances prior to last weekend and a clear second choice to Nacho Monreal, the 27-year-old may have to consider a move if he wants to progress his career.

At one stage, it looked like the left-back was going to become a regular in the England set-up, such were his decent displays for Arsenal, but he hasn’t hit those heights in recent seasons.

With Liverpool struggling for left-back options, a move to Anfield could tempt the Arsenal defender, especially if he still harbours ambitions of playing for his country.

Although he didn’t play well in Ludogorets the other night, he needs regular game time to get back to where he once was, and he could get that at Liverpool.

Santi Cazorla

A bold choice may be, but Santi Cazorla’s contract at Arsenal expires in the summer and, as of yet, no new deal has been agreed.

Thus, any side in the Premier League should be enquiring about his availability, such is his proven record in England since moving to Arsenal in 2012.

He is technically one of the best midfielders in the league, and has been hugely consistent for the Gunners over the last four years.

He can control the tempo of the game from the middle, but also has an incredible eye for a pass. He has consistently been in the top two or three at Arsenal in terms of chances created and assists ever since his move in 2012, and would be a huge asset to any side in the league.

Klopp should seriously consider a move in January if no contract is agreed before then.
