Liverpool have reportedly already entered negotiations over a potential deal to sign Belgium youth international starlet Samuel Bastien this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League side, who finished eighth in the English top-flight standings this term, despite reaching the 2016 UEFA Europa League final last month, are interested in signing Anderlecht’s highly-rated midfielder in a deal worth around £4m.

The 19-year-old, who has represented Belgium at Under-21 level, scored two goals and provided one assist in 31 league games whilst on loan at Serie B outfit Avellino this season.

Bastien, who is understood to be currently on holiday in Marbella, Spain; could become Reds boss Jurgen Klopp’s second summer signing after already sealing the capture of Loris Karius from Bundesliga side Mainz.

However the report suggests that Italian outfit Avellino have an option to buy Bastien following his impressive loan spell.

Nevertheless; Liverpool have emerged as frontrunners to win his signature ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, with the player’s agent, Franklin Mala Makani, already looking to enter talks over a summer transfer.
