Liverpool’s hopes of securing a place in the Premier League’s top four were dealt a huge blow as they were beaten 4-1 by Manchester City on Saturday.
The Reds had gone ahead at The Etihad through Mohamed Salah, but the hosts rallied and ultimately cruised to a comfortable victory courtesy of goals from Julian Alvarez, Kevin de Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish.
Liverpool now sit eighth in the table, eight points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
With that in mind, Liverpool appear to be looking at possible targets ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
As per Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, The Reds are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt’s attacking midfielder Jesper Lindstrom.
Plettenberg claims that Liverpool are highly interested in the player, but face competition for his signature from Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Lindstrom, 23, has been in fine form so far this season, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 31 matches across all competitions.

It is also claimed that a fee in the region of £30-£40 million could be enough to sign Lindstrom, although Frankfurt are hoping to secure a fee closer to £45 million.
Both Premier League sides are said to have already been in contact with Frankfurt over a proposed move for the player, who is contracted to his current club until 2026.
The Denmark international joined his current side from Danish side Brondby back in 2021, and has since made 70 appearances for the German side, scoring 14 goals and registering 13 assists.
He made his senior international debut as a substitute against Sweden in 2020, and netted his first goal for his country during a 3-0 win over Serbia in March last year.
Liverpool will be looking to bolster their squad this summer after what has already been a disappointing campaign.
The Reds, who reached the finals of the FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League last year, have already been knocked out of all three competitions this term.
They also find themselves in a battle for a top four spot, despite finishing just a single point behind champions Manchester City last term.
