Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Spanish goalkeeper Antonio Adan, according to Fichajes (via the Daily Star).

The Premier League outfit, who currently sit ninth in the standings following Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to the hands of Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium, are thought to be closely monitoring the Real Betis star ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old, who is a former Spain Under-21 international, has kept 10 clean sheets in 30 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit so far this season.

Despite regular number one at Anfield; Simon Mignolet, recently penning a new long-term contract at the club, boss Jurgen Klopp is still on the lookout for another shot stopper considering the Belgium international’s regular inconsistency between the sticks.

The report also suggests that back-up ‘keeper Adam Bogdan’s Liverpool career could be over this summer, having fallen out of favour and behind highly-rated youngster Danny Ward in the pecking order.

Adan, who is also interesting the likes of Southampton and Sunderland, is thought to be valued at around £11.8m.
