Liverpool have launched a £24.5m bid for Chelsea target Alex Teixeira, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
The Premier League side, who defeated League Two Exeter City 3-0 in their FA Cup third-round replay on Wednesday night, want to sign the in-form Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder during the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old, who is yet to earn his first senior international cap for Brazil, has scored a sensational 26 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions for the Ukrainian outfit this season.
However Teixeira, who has been heavily linked with a January switch to defending Premier League champions Chelsea this month, is valued at around €50m (£38.5million) by Shakhtar.
