The first transfer window of the summer closes on Tuesday evening, before reopening on Monday 16 June.

A number of Premier League sides have already taken advantage of the early summer window, including Chelsea who have signed both Dario Essugo and Liam Delap.

Premier League champions Liverpool are one of the top flight clubs that are yet to make a signing this summer, however full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has already departed Anfield.

Now, it has emerged that the Merseyside club have made a decision on the future of one of their attackers that has been linked with a move away from the club.

As per Football Insider, Liverpool are unlikely to push Luis Diaz out of the club this summer and will likely only sell the player if he seeks a departure.

Diaz, 28, joined the Reds from Portuguese side Porto in 2022 and has since played 148 times for the Merseyside club across all competitions, scoring 41 goals and providing 23 assists.

The winger is said to have attracted interest from Spanish giants Barcelona, as well as clubs in the Saudi Arabian Pro League, however Liverpool are not actively seeking to sell the player.

This is despite the Reds lowering their valuation of the attacker from £85 million to £70 million.

Diaz has just over two years remaining on his current contract with the Premier League champions, and those in charge of Liverpool are said to be ‘baffled’ by the speculation linking the player with a move away from Anfield.

It is claimed that Liverpool are hoping to agree a new deal with the Colombia international, however Pro League side Al-Nassr are weighing up a £71 million bid for the player.
