Liverpool have reportedly identified Jamaica Under-23 international forward Leon Bailey as a summer transfer target, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who defeated Southampton 2-0 at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday in the top-flight, have been linked with luring the Bayer Leverkusen winger to Anfield at the end of the current 2017-18 campaign.

The 20-year-old, who has featured once for Jamaica’s Under-23 side back in March 2015 against Cayman Islands, has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 22 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga side so far this season.

Bailey, who joined Leverkusen back in January 2017 from Belgium outfit Genk, has played 32 first-team games for the German club overall.

The report suggests Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is switching his attention away from trying to land AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar this summer, and will instead target Jamaican starlet Bailey.

The Kingston-born forward is said to be attracting interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, although Leverkusen’s hierarchy could demand around £100m for his services this summer.
