Liverpool are reportedly keeping close tabs on Kenya international star Victor Wanyama, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League side, who thrashed FC Porto 5-0 away from home in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, have been linked with a summer swoop for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.

The 26-year-old, who has 49 international caps for his country, has scored one goal in 13 appearances in all competitions for Spurs so far this season.

Wanyama, who joined Tottenham back in June 2016 following his reported £11m move from Premier League rivals Southampton, has netted six goals in 60 games overall for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The report suggests The Reds are monitoring the Kenyan’s situation at Spurs, amid fears they will lose fellow central midfielder Emre Can this summer, with Juventus chasing his signature.

However, Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United are also thought to be keeping tabs on Wanyana’s circumstances at Tottenham, having made just one Premier League start all season.

Wanyama is valued at £27m, by transfermarkt.
