Jurgen Klopp is in the market for new players.

Liverpool Predicted XI: We predict Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup as Liverpool face a tough Champions League test away to Atalanta.

Tonight’s clash between the Serie A outfit and the current Premier League champions is certainly a mouth watering one, and match which is tough to call.

Reds boss, Klopp once again has to contend with injuries in his squad, especially in defence as Liverpool face a tough fixture schedule in the upcoming weeks.

Liverpool currently sit up top of Group D, with Atalanta just a place and two points below them, with the chance to leapfrog the 2019 European champions with a home victory tonight.

So which players will the German boss task with getting a positive result in Italy?

Here we predict Klopp’s starting XI…

Goalkeeper: First-choice Liverpool goalkeeper made a remarkable comeback from injury when starting against Sheffield United two weeks ago. It was first thought that the Brazilian would be out for at least a month, but he worked hard and was out for just a few weeks to provide a huge boost to Klopp and the Liverpool squad. We expect the excellent keeper to start again tonight as he is now back to full match sharpness.

Defenders: Klopp, once again has to battle with key injuries in his squad, especially in the defensive department. It’s been well reported that Virgil Van Dijk and Fabinho are both out injured leaving Klopp with very little options in the heart of defence. Although Joel Matip has travelled with the squad which will be a huge boost to Klopp. Nathaniel Phillips is not eligble to play in the Champions League, so we expect Matip to start alongside Joe Gomez tonight. That leaves the trusted pair of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson at full back.

Midfielders: Klopp has confirmed that Thiago has not trained with the squad once again, which is a shame for Liverpool and the player. We expect James Milner to start tonight to bring experience to this Liverpool team, despite him being one yellow card away from a suspension. Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum are likely to sit alongside Milner, making up an experienced midfield trio.

Forwards: Diogo Jota for Firmino seems to be the big talking point at Anfield this week, with the summer signing bang in form and Firmino struggling at this present time. However, Firmino has a good record in the Champions League, so we’re expecting Klopp to stick with his trusted trio in such a big game for the club. Sadio Mane and Mo Salah will be hungry for goals this evening.

Predicted XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Gomez, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Milner, Salah, Mane, Firmino
