Liverpool Predicted XI: Who will make Liverpool’s starting XI on Saturday as they visit local rivals Everton in Merseyside derby at Goodison Park

Despite their good form, United have a long way to go to bridge the gap to Jurgen Klopp's side.

Liverpool Predicted XI: Who will make Liverpool’s starting XI on Saturday as they visit local rivals Everton in Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Following what’s felt like a very long week of international football, it’s exciting to have the Premier League back this weekend and there’s some epic clashes on show.

Perhaps the biggest, is the Merseyside derby on Saturday lunchtime as current table-toppers Everton host the current Premier League champions.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp will be well aware that his side’s last outing was the devastating 7-2 loss at Aston Villa and will be desperate for his team to bounce back.

Everton on the other hand have been in sensational form at the start of the campaign, having won all four of their league games under Carlo Ancelotti.

Here we predict Liverpool’s starting XI…

Goalkeeper:

Unfortunately for the champions, there number one Alisson looks set to a fair few more weeks on the sidelines, so Adrian is likely to play again. The Spaniard made a glaring error against Villa, but it would be harsh to blame him for any of the other six goals the Liverpool defence shipped.

Defenders:

Having made no summer signings in defence, Klopp will be expected to start the back four who served him so well last season. The imperious full back duo of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will start on either flank with club talisman Virgil van Dijk partnering Joe Gomez in the heart of the defence. The Reds made some key errors at the back last week, which they will have to cut out on Saturday afternoon.

Midfielders:

With the signing of Thiago, Klopp has given his midfield a huge boost and he has returned to training following a Covid-19 scare. The Spaniard is likely to start on Saturday, which will give other squad players pressure to perform when they get a chance on the field. We expect Klopp to stick with the midfield trio of Jordan Henderson, Giorgino Winaldum and Thiago.

Forwards:

The front three of Liverpool’s is one of the most feared in the division and rightly so. Goals and assists come in bundles from all three. Salah will be hoping to build on his hat-trick on the opening day and Sadio Mane has now fully recovered from Coronavirus. That leaves Roberto Firmino to create space and link up with his world-class team mates.

Predicted XI: Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Thiago, Wijnaldum, Mane, Firmino, Salah
