Liverpool have reportedly approached FC Porto regarding a mega-money move for their Algerian winger Yacine Brahimi, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, via The Mirror.

The Merseysiders are gearing up for their Europa League Final this Wednesday, knowing that victory will mean Champions League football next season; which could be a crucial factor for in any deal for the attacker, with no European football on offer if the Reds fail to see off Sevilla in Basel.

The 26-year-old has a release clause of €60million – which equates to around £45million – and his sheer pace would make Liverpool an even stronger proposition next term, after they finished the campaign in a disappointing eighth position in the Premier League standings.

Reports suggest that the likes of Juventus, Wolfsburg and AC Milan are all interested in the prolific winger, who has scored 10 goals and collected 10 assists in 48 appearances this season for the Portuguese club.

Porto will want to hold out for the €60million fee, but it is understood that they could be tempted at around the £30million price range too.
