Liverpool are reportedly ready to make a move for Germany international striker Stefan Kiessling.
New Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who saw his side impressively defeat defending Premier League champions Chelsea 3-1 last weekend, has identified the Bayer Leverkusen forward as the ideal target to solve the club’s goalscoring problems ahead of the January transfer window.
The 31-year-old, who has six international caps to his name, has scored three goals in 18 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.
With fellow forwards Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings currently on the sidelines at Anfield, manager Klopp has been left with Christian Benteke as his only out-and-out striker for the time being.
It is believed that Kiessling, who has scored over 130 league goals in Germany, could be tempted by a switch to the Premier League after falling behind strikers Javier Hernandez and Admir Mehmedi at Bayer this term.
