Liverpool have reportedly joined AFC Bournemouth in the chase for Birmingham City star Demarai Gray.
The Cherries had a bid of around £5m turned down by the Championship outfit towards the end of the summer transfer window, although it has now emerged that Premier League rivals Liverpool are ready to step in with their own valuation.
The 19-year-old, who is an England Under-20 international, scored six goals in 43 appearances in all competitions for Gary Rowett’s Blues last season.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers may have set his sights on the exciting winger following the news that Gray can leave St Andrew’s for £3.5m in January, or just £3m next summer due to the reduction in his buy-out clause.
