Bayern Munich are close to agreeing a deal for unhappy Liverpool star Sadio Mane, according to reports.

As per Matteo Moretto on Twitter, the Bundesliga champions are closing in on a deal for the Senegal forward, which would be worth around £34 million.

Mane will reportedly tell Liverpool formally of his desire to leave the club this summer in the coming days, in the wake of their Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday.

The 30-year-old’s deal with current side Liverpool is set to expire next summer, but the player reportedly wants to leave Anfield a year early.

The former Southampton man joined Liverpool in 2016, and has since won all six trophies available to him including the Premier League and Champions League.

Mane reportedly became disgruntled at the way the club had treated him when dealing with contract renewals though, as he felt that those in charge had prioritised Mohamed Salah’s new deal.

Now, the 30-year-old looks set to move to Germany and sign a three-year deal with Bayern, who have identified Mane as a suitable replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who is expected to depart the club this summer.

During his time in Merseyside, Mane has scored 120 goals in 269 games, and also provided 48 assists.

He won the Premier League golden boot award during the 2018/19 campaign, and also scored twice as Liverpool won the UEFA Super Cup in 2019.
