Liverpool completed their third signing of the summer on Thursday with Milos Kerkez arriving from AFC Bournemouth.

The Hungarian becomes the third arrival at Anfield this summer, following both Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz in the door on Merseyside.

Arne Slot’s side cruised to the Premier League title last term, and the Dutchman will be desperate to give himself the best chance of repeating the feat next time around.

In the meantime, though, it appears that one Liverpool star could be on his way out of the club next year.

As per Foot Mercato via GetFootballNewsFrance, defender Ibrahima Konate intends to leave Liverpool as a free agent when his contract expires next summer.

The Frenchman will enter into the final year of his current contract next month, and the report suggests that he has no intention of staying put beyond the end of next season.

It is claimed that three huge European clubs – namely Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain – are interested in the France international.

Konate’s preference is said to be to join Real Madrid, where he would reunite with Trent Alexander-Arnold who joined the Spanish side earlier this summer after running down his contract with the Reds.

Having joined Liverpool from German side RB Leipzig in 2021, the central defender has since played more than 130 times for the Merseyside club across all competitions.

The player has been in negotiations with Liverpool about a new deal, but the discussions have not yet produced a breakthrough.

The report claims that the centre-back is keen to challenge himself elsewhere after winning the Premier League title with the Reds last term.
