Liverpool are closing in on their first ever Premier League title and their first top flight league championship since 1990.
Following an extremely busy schedule, they face off against in-form Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield on Sunday to complete an incredible 2019.
Going into the game the Reds will sit a minimum of 10 points clear (depending on Leicester City’s result), with a chance to further tighten their grip on the Premier League trophy.
However, Jurgen Klopp will know how hectic December has been for his squad, with the trip to Dubai for the World Club Championships a key factor. The German will have a real decision on his hands off the back of an incredible performance away at Leicester.
But with their opponents taking three points off City last time out, he will not want to make too many changes. We predict Liverpool’s line-up to take on Wolves
GK: Alisson
Mr reliable Alisson will be back between the sicks. He will be surprised how little he had to do at the King Power Stadium on Boxing Day.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold
The king of assists just keeps on delivering, putting in a man of the match performance on Boxing Day. And, at the age of just 21, doesn’t look as if he needs a rest anytime soon.
CB: Dejan Lovren
Although Joe Gomez started against Leicester, we believe Lovren will come back into the side, after a much-deserved rest. Klopp will be keen to play his best defence against the free-scoring Wolves.
CB: Virgil van Dijk
Second in Ballon d’Or, Virgil van Dijk is Liverpool’s undisputed number 1 player is simply undroppable at this stage of the season.
LB: Andrew Robertson
Will again start at left-back. He will have a very tough evening ahead of him with the powerful Adama Traore running at him for 90 minutes.
DM: Jordan Henderson
The captain is expected to continue in the DM role due to the injury suffered to Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain still on the sidelines.
CM: James Milner
Although he hasn’t been a regular starter we expect Klopp to turn to his experience for this encounter.
CM: Georginio Wijnaldum
Seems to be Klopp’s go-to man in midfield due to his energy and ability to both attack and defend.
FW: Sadio Mane
Fresh from finishing fourth in the Ballon d’Or award, the Senegal star will be looking to notch his 14th goal of the season.
FW: Mo Salah
Hasn’t been the prolific Salah we knew from last season, but he still brings so much to this Liverpool side.
FW: Roberto Firmino
Currently in his best form of the season, scoring the winner in the World Club Final and again notching against Leicester on Boxing Day.
