Liverpool team news: Predicted line-up vs Everton – Klopp forced to change starting XI

Klopp's Liverpool are well in with a chance of winning the title.

Liverpool host Everton in the 234th Merseyside derby on Wednesday evening with both clubs having very different seasons.

The Reds have won 13 of their opening 14 matches and sit eight points clear at the top, while the Toffees are just two points above the relegation zone.

However, Jurgen Klopp will know anything can happen in a derby and that his side will need to keep up their form in what is a hectic December.

But with a possible nine matches to play over the month, which XI will the German pick to face the Blues? We predict Liverpool’s line-up to take on Everton….

GK: Adrian

The Spaniard will deputise for the suspended Alisson to make his 13th appearance for Liverpool. Hopefully it turns out not to be unlucky for the Reds.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold

The king of assists just keeps on delivering and, at the age of just 21, doesn’t look as if he needs a rest anytime soon.

CB: Dejan Lovren

With Joel Matip still sidelined and Joe Gomez seemingly out of favour, Lovren is expected to continue alongside VVD.

CB: Virgil van Dijk

Second in Ballon d’Or, Virgil van Dijk is Liverpool’s undisputed number 1 player and scored both goals in the victory against Brighton last time out.

LB: Andrew Robertson

Will again start at left-back. Everton will have to be wary of both Robbo and Trent bombing on from full-back.

DM: Jordan Henderson

The captain is expected to continue in the DM role due to the injury suffered to Fabinho.

CM: James Milner

Although he hasn’t been a regular starter we expect Klopp to turn to his experience for this encounter.

CM: Georginio Wijnaldum

Seems to be Klopp’s go-to man in midfield due to his energy and ability to both attack and defend.

FW: Sadio Mane

Fresh from finishing fourth in the Ballon d’Or award, the Senegal star will be looking to notch his 13th goal of the season.

FW: Mo Salah

Didn’t quite look himself in the win against Brighton but will be looking to put on a show in the Merseyside derby.

FW: Roberto Firmino

Will be aiming to add to his tally of four Premier League goals this term at the start of what is a busy month.
