Vs Swansea City (A), May 1
The first few months of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool reign have been strewn with inconsistencies, as evidenced in last week’s collapse against Newcastle. Swansea, though, seem content to end the season clinging to their Premier League status, and the Reds should get back on track in South Wales – despite their European commitments.
Shoot Says: 2-1 win
Vs Watford (H), May 8
Like Swansea, Watford present a fairly straight-forward end-of-season opponent for Liverpool. The Hornets have achieved their target of surviving their first campaign back in the top flight, but shouldn’t cause the Reds too many problems at a rejuvenated Anfield. Klopp’s side look set to head into the summer on a high.
Shoot Says: 3-0 win
Vs Chelsea (H), May 11
Guus Hiddink has spent his final weeks as Chelsea manager experimenting with the Blues’ squad, and any such rotation here is likely to be punished by Klopp’s Liverpool. Reds fans recall those famous Champions League nights against the London side with Rafa Benitez at the helm, and they’ll hope to see their team go for the throats of the dethroned champions.
Shoot Says: 2-0 win
Vs West Bromwich Albion (A), May 15
For all West Brom’s faults under Pulis, they’re never easy to beat, and, with a Europa League final potentially on the horizon, Klopp and Liverpool wouldn’t be too unhappy with an injury-free stalemate at the Hawthorns. It will be interesting to see how the German’s line-up here differs to that he picks after his first summer in charge at Anfield.
Shoot Says: 1-1 draw
Overall Points: 65
Final Position: 7th
