Name: Daniel Sturridge
Position: Forward
In good news for both club and country, the England forward hit form to take Shoot’s award in a thrilling month for the Reds.
Returning from a lengthy lay-off in early February, Sturridge has been eased back into the Liverpool team, while continuing to net at an alarming rate.
In just 12 Premier League appearances prior to May – nine of which were starts – he managed eight goals, including four in April.
With efforts against Stoke City, AFC Bournemouth, Everton and Newcastle United, the former Chelsea man looks as sharp as ever and will surely be picked by Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson to go to the European Championships this summer.
His current hot streak is of particular importance to Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, however, with young star Divock Origi suffering a nasty injury after he too had netted in the Merseyside derby, and with summer signing Christian Benteke out of favour under the German.
